Luiz de Garrido begins his presentation by talking about the environmental and social deterioration due to Economic practices, especially; he talks about the deterioration due to architecture practices.
The architect, then, gives a speech about the new ecological economy through a sustainable development, the needs for a new society and a new architecture. Finally, he talks about his desire of making more than just "Sustainable Architecture" or simply "Architecture". What he really wants is to create an "Artificial Nature".
Luiz describes a methodology for the achievement of a really sustainable architecture, his five basic principles and his indicators as well as his architectural guidelines for a sustainable architecture, an environmental efficiency and the costs of each guideline.
Finally, the architect reinforces the needs for a new architectural formal language, that he describes as "the beauty of the imperfect" and the efficiency of the bio-climatic architecture that allows for perfect environmental control.
